Taking a vacant space and creating a spectacular new brewery, this huge 5,749 SF masterpiece is a sight to behold. The scope of Epic’s role when doing this design-build with Elmhurst Brewing Company is vast and wide, and certainly one of our many favorites over the years. Finished in 2018, just a few of the highlights include an entirely new mezzanine floor layout, a new brewhouse with a 10-barrel system, a luxurious dining space, bar, coolers, immaculate kitchen, and new washrooms and offices.

After extensive demolition, with removal of approximately 60% of the 2nd floor section, the new mezzanine floor section was framed and poured for a new upstairs bar area. We hope you’ll take a look at the “SCOPE” list to get a sense of the many components that Epic had its hands on within this huge space and all floors. Custom stairs with the Elmhurst logo from floor to mezzanine, and all new EVERYTHING … working with Elmhurst Brewing Company was worth every moment, and the results are nothing short of spectacular!

SCOPE

• Extensive demolition, including ground-through-roof chimney stack and removal of 60% of 2nd floor including concrete floor slab and metal decking along with the associated floor finishes, wall partitions, existing M/E/P, and existing stairs which resulted in the creation of a new poured and framed mezzanine for a new bar area

• New dining space, bar, coolers, kitchen, offices, washrooms, and brewhouse featuring a 10-barrel system with new glycol piping, transfer lines, steam piping, and the installation of tanks, walk-in coolers, and draft lines

• Concrete slabs, foundations, footings, trench drains

• Structural steel and ornamental iron work, including columns, beams, trusses, lintels, roof rails, metal pan stairs, custom and branded inserts, and metal railings

• Epoxy floors and major stained and polished concrete throughout

• Fire sprinkler and alarm systems

• M/E/P including water and sewer, gas piping, water heater, fixtures, RTU units, kitchen hoods, exhaust fans, MAU, and electrical including service and lighting
