Right smack dab in the heart of Chicago you’ll find this incredible 9,000 SF destination for brews and bites of the highest level variety. As a design-build project, the Epic team was brought in to surpass all challenges by building a fully operational brewery with a 15 barrel brewhouse, fermenters and serving tanks, and a full service kitchen and restaurant – all while still respecting certain materials and all space confinements of a shuttered restaurant / bar in the city of Chicago. Coming in at the start, we worked closely with the owners, the brewer, and Axios Architects to achieve the huge transformation.

Out of all the highlights and accomplishments during this project, Epic is especially proud about the design and installation of a new structural steel and concrete floor system in the brew house and kitchen. It carries the weight of all tanks and equipment of remarkable weight, while allowing no moisture breaches. Aesthetically, the floor even flows seamlessly into the sophisticated, refurbished and preserved mosaic marble tiled floor that stayed.

We can confidently report that even after millions of glasses of beer have been produced, spilled, and happily consumed, these brewhouse, kitchen, and refurbished floors continue to function like the rest of the establishment - with stellar perfection!
